What We Believe

Our Beliefs

We are a non-denominational church of ordinary people, saved by the love and grace of an extraordinary God. Our focus is on teaching the full counsel of God with life application, verse by verse, chapter by chapter, book by book, from Genesis through Revelation. We exist to glorify and exalt the living God through a lifestyle of biblical worship as we value God above all earthly things. Our desire is to worship Him with a living faith that is obedient to His Word; to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, (for it is the power unto salvation), and to mature into a body of prolific believers who wholeheartedly follow Jesus, as we delight in His service to others.

We believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God.

We believe in one sovereign and eternal God in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe in the virgin birth of Jesus Christ, that He was without sin, was the perfect atonement through His shed blood on the Cross, died, buried, resurrected, and ascended into Heaven to sit at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in power and glory.

We believe in repentance from sin that leads to salvation by faith through grace apart from works; that genuine believers are born again and sealed by the Holy Spirit of God. Thus, one cannot be separated from the love of Jesus Christ.

We believe in water baptism as the Lord commanded it, a symbolic representation of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ.

We believe in the regeneration and indwelling of the Holy Spirit and the manifestation of spiritual gifts and fruit in the life of the believer.

We believe in the premillennial return of the Lord Jesus Christ and its effect on the life of service and mission of the believer.

We believe in the bodily resurrection of those raised to judgement and Hell, and those raised to eternal joy in the New Heaven and New Earth.

Pastor Tom grew up with a heart for God, eventually for His word, and for the lives and souls of people. His Calvary Chapel journey began with attending Cornerstone Calvary Chapel in Howell, and it was there that he crossed paths with Pastor John Durante. Tom, and a handful of others, were called by God to assemble and come alongside Pastor John to plant a church where they both resided. That church eventually became Jersey Shore Calvary Chapel in Point Pleasant Beach.    Tom came onboard as an Elder and was ordained for future pastoral ministry. After serving there for 13 years, Tom and his wife Debbie moved further south and officially started Jersey Shore Calvary Chapel at Berkeley in April of 2019. Pastor Tom and Debbie are married for 45 years with three children and 5 grandchildren.

Be part of our story.....

Do you want to know the meaning of life? It all starts here: “In the beginning God . . . ” This is the first line in the first book of the Bible. It is the beginning of the story of God’s relationship with His creation; His-story, by which all other stories, including ours, can be understood. We invite you to come, learn more, and be a part of God's exciting story... and ours.

Join us every Sunday as we gather to worship together at 10 am.
